About the Neighborhood

Living in Victorian District

Listed on the National Register in 1974, the Victorian District is the wood-frame suburb that grew up directly south of the Historic District in the 1870s–1900s. Queen Anne, Second Empire, and Stick-style homes line streets like Bull, Whitaker, and Drayton, with deep porches, gingerbread trim, and bay windows on nearly every block.

It's quieter than downtown but still walkable to Forsyth Park, Starland, and SCAD's southern campus. Streetcar-era lot sizes mean modest front yards and generous side gardens, and most rentals are restored Victorians or 2–4 unit conversions.
